WHAT I DO

Currently I work as Art Director for Mattel Games, Advanced Concepts & Special Projects. Working in games I predominantly design for packaging as well as all print graphics for product. I love what I do as it is a wonderful mixture of designing for communication and graphics as well as directing for illustration and photography. Working on Mattel Innovation I get to dive deep into brainstorms and research tinkering with the best of tomorrows technology to help build the future of play.

DIG A LITTLE DEEPER

I grew up on the press room floors of my grandfathers printing company in New York. With Letrasets, Pantone books, and giant color charts all around and towers of Heidelberg Presses as my jungle gym it's no mystery where my interests sparked.
I always knew that, when I grew up, I wanted to be in a career that was artistic and inventive. I have also always had a passion for story telling, teaching and problem solving. I believe that it is this collaboration of interests which make me a graphic designer, tirelessly trying to solve problems through story telling in a creative and artistic manner to present a solution that is new, informative, educating and aesthetically pleasing.

EDUCATED AS…

I am frequently referred to as a modern day renaissance man. I am a certified Butcher and Barista and have been educated in Printmaking, Photography, Computer Science, Art History and Graphic Design.

PAINT IT BLACK

A few years ago I started a personal project call "Paint It Black" in which I would find inspirational product design and paint it black to remove all branding of the item. I am interested in the visual relationship we have with everyday items and this became a way to document and diagnose this relationship. see all my posts here.
