I am in the process of working out some cover art concepts for a book that I am working on the design for with a client. I can't speak to the book just yet but the concept for the artwork is a play on things that lose or gain value based on time and interaction, and the way that the "worth" of something can change as you reveal more information.
To illustrate the concept I have chosen to make the book into what is essentially a giant lotto scratcher. In the following shots you will see the book title "Art and Culture" which is a book by Clement Greenberg and has more to do with the concept but is not the title of the book itself. The actual title of the book was letter pressed into the paper and I then painted over the print using a mixture of metallic acrylic paint and dish soap to make the scratcher surface.
That is about all that I can say at this moment but I will update as I can.
