The Norton Simon Museum
The Norton Simon Museum began as the Pasadena Art Institute, founded in 1922 and incorporated two years later as a privately endowed, nonprofit institution. Originally comprised of local citizens, the primary goals of the Institution were to establish and maintain a museum and library of art as well as encourage the study of fine arts.
Los Angeles is widely known for the amount of Dutch work that it has across its many museums. The Norton Simons 17th-18th century European Art section is comprised heavily of a beautiful Dutch Masters collection.
I have been to the Museum many times but I thought I would share some of my favorite pieces with you all. Hop over to their website for more information on the museum; hours, membership information and exhibitions. http://www.nortonsimon.org
