Not sure how many of you are familiar with the name Wayne White. Even if you don't know the name you are more than likely familiar with his work.
White has art directed music videos including The Smashing Pumpkins' 'Tonight, Tonight' and Peter Gabriel's 'Big Time' he was the designer for the show Pee-wee’s Playhouse and was the set and character designer for the shows Shining Time Station, Beakman’s World, Riders In The Sky, and Bill & Willis. He has now re-invented himself as an artist (a style that recently become very popular) painting typographic phrases into otherwise mundane thrift store bought scenery paintings.
I finally watched the Wayne White documentary, Beauty Is Embarrassing, and I really recommend it to everyone. Extremely insightful and inspirational. I think there is really a little something in this for everyone.
